Treatment Effect
Product Overview
CALCILIX® is a liquid formulation based on calcium citrate, providing a highly bioavailable form of calcium that is rapidly and efficiently absorbed through both leaves and roots. Thanks to its high mobility and excellent uptake rate, it strengthens plant tissues, improves cell wall resistance, and supports optimal fruit development.Regular application of CALCILIX® helps effectively prevent physiological disorders related to calcium deficiency, such as blossom end rot, apical necrosis, and premature fruit softening. CALCILIX® also enhances fruit firmness, extends post-harvest shelf life, and contributes to improved commercial quality of crop production.
Application
Calcilix® can be applied as a foliar spray, soil drench, fertigation/chemigation, seed or tuber priming, and post-harvest dip. Apply as a fine, uniform spray, preferably in the early morning or late afternoon.
A soil pH test is recommended before application, especially in calcareous soils. Perform a compatibility test before mixing with other products and avoid exceeding recommended rates.
For crop-specific rates and timing, refer to the technical data sheet or consult our agronomic team.
Methods of application
Mechanisms of Action
Calcium citrates exerts its effects through several key mechanisms:
Rhizosphere Activation
The citrate component stimulates beneficial microbial activity around the roots and releases bound nutrients (phosphorus, iron, zinc) from the soil, making them more available for plant uptake
Chelated Calcium Transport
Calcium forms soluble citrate complexes that move easily through the xylem and penetrate plant tissues, ensuring efficient calcium delivery to leaves, flowers, and fruits
Stress Resistance
Calcium plays a key role in cellular signaling, activating defense pathways that help plants respond to stress, diseases, and unfavorable conditions like drought or salinity.
Cell Wall Reinforcement
Inside the plant, calcium acts as a structural element that cross-links pectin chains in cell walls, increasing tissue firmness, reducing fruit cracking, and improving postharvest quality.
Dual Mode of Action
Calcilix Benefits
- Corrects or prevents calcium deficiency, stunted growth, and reduced yields
- Promotes strong plant cell growth
- Improves resistance to stress, drought and disease
- Balances soil salinity
- Improves water penetration through soil
Why Choose Calcilix?
Calcium deficiency?
Calcium deficiency weakens cell walls, disrupts normal leaf and fruit development, and makes plants more sensitive to stress. Regular application of calcium, such as through calcium citrate helps maintain strong cell structure, healthy growth, and improved post-harvest quality.
